Scruffs has taken 3 first place Golds at the prestigious 2010 Roses Advertising Awards. The prizes were awarded for the MAN TIPS radio ads that ran on talkSPORT in February & March, and included:
Best Radio Ad
Best Radio Campaign
Best Copywriting
The awards ceremony took place at the Ramada Hotel in Manchester on 6th May 2010 and were attended by renowned creatives and clients from across the advertising industry. The high-calibre judging panel included Trevor Beattie, who created the notorious Wonderbra ad campaign, and Tony Hardcastle, the man behind the 118-118 ads.
Competing with the best Scruffs came up against stiff competition in each category that included household names such as WKD Vodka, Warburtons, and Vimto. Judges commented on the “exceptionally high standard of work” submitted for the awards. As a winner Scruffs joins an elite circle of advertising excellence.
The Roses Awards are the highlight of the very successful MAN TIPS campaign that created a 101% sales uplift during the promotional period. Commenting on the triple scoop, Chris Mellor-Dolman, Head of Marketing for the Scruffs brand said, “This is fantastic recognition for a cheeky campaign that really engaged colleagues, dealers and consumers by making them laugh, and returned exceptional sales results.
