Scruffs-sponsored Adam Shelton put in a progressive weekend’s work at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire on 30th and 31st May in the British Thundersport Superstock 1000 Championship.

Adam relished the prospect of racing the Scruffs ZX-10R Kawasaki for the first time at his home circuit. He currently holds the British Thundersport lap records in the 500cc and 600cc classes from previous seasons. It didn’t all go his own way in the first race on Saturday, as Adam took an invaluable journey on the learning curve, fighting with an unruly set-up to steal a hard-earned second place. Adam commented: “Cadwell’s a very technical circuit, which is why I love it. But it’s a whole different game on a much bigger 1000cc machine. I was fighting with the bike from the off, which is physically demanding, and I tired towards the end of the race. Lots of learning though, and a podium finish.”

On day two on Sunday it was clear that Adam and the Scruffs Racing Team had built on the learnings from the first day. With a much-improved set-up his riding style was more relaxed, and a happier Adam came over the line in a very comfortable second place. More learnings translated to minor tweaks ahead of the third and final race. In race three Adam found top form to secure a well-deserved race win, taking maximum points as he kept fellow contender Craig Neve at bay for the entirety of the eleven lap race. A buoyed up Adam said, “It’s fantastic to record another win in Thundersport GB! I’m really thrilled.”

With three podium finishes Adam bagged a sizeable points tally to create a comfortable lead in the Superstock 1000 Championship. Another great weekend of racing and an extensive silverware collection for the ‘tipped for the top’ Scruffs Racing Team rider. Proof enough that Adam is clearly #SCRUFFSENOUGH! If you missed the action at Cadwell you can see Adam’s races on Motors TV at 9.30pm on Thursday 11th June. Catch Adam in action again on the Scruffs Kawasaki on the 26th and 27th June at Oulton Park in Cheshire. Stay up to date with Adam’s progress right here at Scruffs.com
